Smart Choices Resource Guide 2006 Scroll Down For Information on Participating
The "Smart Choices" Resource Guide is a publication that is created in conjunction with Earth Day New York's highly successful Earth Day event in Midtown Manhattan called EarthFair. Each year, the Guide is produced as a promotional piece for the event, as well as an attractive and useful give-away during the event. Earth Day New York is again teaming up with the Green Apple Music Festival which includes the Jammy Awards, children's programming, a film festival and 50+ concerts at 20 of the top musical venues in New York City (e.g. Madison Square Garden , Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher, The Beacon, etc.). This year, we will be printing 30,000 copies of our fifth edition of the "Smart Choices" Guide which will be distributed throughout New York City in conjunction with the Green Apple Music Festival. The Guide will be distributed for free at the Green Apple music venues in addition to EarthFair at Grand Central Terminal (to the estimated 700,000 people who wander through the terminal during their daily commute), as well as to appropriate businesses throughout the city, various colleges and universities, and participating public parks and gardens. As always, the “Smart Choices” Resource Guide will be designed to be a “keeper” with useful information for the audience all year round. The Guide includes a two-page spread with information about our event and the Green Apple Music Festival, as well as important reference materials such as bus and subway maps, greenmarket listings, information about NYC parks and gardens, a comprehensive list of New York based environmental non-profits, and helpful information about lessening our impact on the planet. The Guide also includes listings and advertisements for green companies and environmentally-focused non-profits that will help people make smart choices throughout the coming year.
