Yoga is a wonderful way to introduce children to physical activity that is noncompetitive; the practice instills a sense of calmness and relaxation.  Yogi Beans unique age-specific curriculum translates the wonderful practice of Yoga to a language that kids can understand, relate to, and enjoy. Through the physical movement, children will be introduced to Yoga's true meaning: union, expression and honor of one's self. Yogi Beans classes are a balance between structured and creative activities. Sprinkled with picture books, music and other age-appropriate props, children will be fully immersed in the world of Yoga! *Demos will be on Friday from 12PM-2PM and on Saturday from 1:00PM-4:00PM.*

Earth Week (April 20 - 26)

Earth Week at Grand Central will be comprised of several special events, the Giant Earth Images in Grand Central and EarthFair. In addition to the approximately 700,000 people that pass through Grand Central on an average day, we hope to draw thousands more from NYC and its surrounding communities through a multi-tiered advertising and marketing campaign.

Grand Central Terminal is an extraordinary Beaux Arts landmark in the heart of New York City. Grand Central Station is served by Metro-North commuter trains, 31 commuter and 15 city bus routes, 7 subway lines, buses to and from the area’s three airports and two million taxis a year. Vanderbilt Avenue is located on the west side of the main concourse.



The Giant Earth Images

Monday, April 20th - Sunday, April 26th; 10AM -8PM

Grand Central Terminal (open to the public; no reservations necessary)

The week-long show will illuminate the historic landmark’s soaring main concourse with inspiring environmentally themed quotes, messages, photographs and graphic images contributed by artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, and Rafal Olbinski, among others. The show, projected onto two of the north columns in the concourse, will run ten hours a day and will include sponsor logos between three and six times an hour. The Take Action for Earth Day Campaign”

In partnership with New York City Parks and MillionTreesNYC, Earth Day New York will facilitate volunteer projects in several New York neighborhood parks as part of our Nurturing Nature Program. Volunteers will perform “tree stewardship” to help promote a greener and healthier New York City.
